School Background
After several months of study by the Christian Education Committee, the Session of the Central Presbyterian Church voted to start the Weekday Nursery School & Kindergarten in September of 1968. The School has progressed from its initial composition of one class of 18 children to currently serving over 170 children in various Nursery School and Enrichment programs. The School also offers other opportunities for your child, including drop-in baby-sitting services, lunch programs, and extended day options. The School is fully licensed by the State of New Jersey.

Philosophy
We create a nurturing atmosphere for children to explore who they are. Our experience-based curriculum challenges young, inquisitive minds and builds stronger physical, cognitive and social skills. We strive to meet the developmental needs of the child, and treat each as a valued individual. Our program allows for a variety of learning experiences and interactions within a larger group. We develop capable young people by teaching important values - respect for self, respect for others, and sharing ideas as well as possessions. We constructively channel a child's energies to establish a firm foundation for future growth and learning - all within a Christian orientation that stresses the worth of individuals and our common responsibility to God and our fellow human beings.
