What Are Small Groups Ministries?
Small Groups of 6 to 12 people meet regularly, either in homes or at the church, to study the Bible, build Christian community, pray together and reach out in mission.
Why Are Small Groups Important?
Small Groups provide a time and place to move out of the pews and learn to love and be loved, know others and be known by them, and to serve other’s needs and be served by them in mutual Christian relationships.
What Do We Do in Our Small Groups?
We follow the model of the early New Testament churches who met together regularly as described in Acts 2:42-47. “They met day after day, in the Temple Courts and from house to house.”
Each Small Group Will:
Study the Bible: Some groups will study a book of the Bible, others will choose a study book to read and discuss. Others will meditate quietly together on Psalm or other scripture text.
Build Community:
Each meeting will include some sharing among members so that the way God is working in our lives can be made visible and support can be offered.
Pray Together:
All groups will build time into each meeting to bring their joys and concerns and the needs of the world before God in prayer.
Reach Out in Mission:
Groups are asked to commit to work together in hands-on mission to benefit someone outside of the group and church.
